Rosie Hedger was born in Scotland and completed her MA (Hons) in Scandinavian Studies at the University of Edinburgh. Rosie studied for a year at the University of Oslo, after which she worked in Sweden and Denmark before returning to the UK. Rosie was a candidate in the British Centre for Literary Translation’s mentoring scheme for emerging translators in 2012, mentored by Don Bartlett.
Rosie has translated a range of titles, and is a PEN Translates Award winner (The Bird Tribunal by Agnes Ravatn, 2016). Rosie frequently collaborates with Norwegian publishers and agents to prepare translated extracts and materials for book fairs, and regularly prepares Readers' Reports on Scandinavian titles.
